The Coliseum (brushed aluminium)

My fascination with shapes and outlines influences most of my art. I'm especially keen on aerial views, this is the best way to see the patterns of a city. I hired a helicopter to fly over Los Angeles with the doors off to capture this bird's eye view of The Coliseum, the historic home of the Los Angeles Rams football team. I painstakingly coloured the photograph by hand digitally, including every one yard line. The image is printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the piece an etched appearance. I love the contrast of the green pitch with the repeated lines of the stadium.

The Coliseum is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered world-wide in about 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes the piece incredibly easy to hang.
