I love the lines and patterns of a city - you can see these perfectly from the air. New York is a perfect example of this. This piece was created from an original photograph taken on a helicopter flight with the doors off. The wonderful layout of the New York streets and landmarks stand out perfectly when you see them from above. The photograph was digitally coloured and printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the image an etched appearance and picks out the details of the city and the magnificence of the Empire State Building perfectly. The image is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.
