Ceres

£950.00

91 x 64 cm, edition of 25

This piece is created from an original photograph of Ceres, the statue crowning the Chicago Board of Trade building.

The statue of Ceres, the Goddess of Agriculture, is faceless because sculptor John Storrs thought the building was so tall no-one would ever be able to see the face!

I love the elegant shapes and lines of the statue, such a beautiful feature of the 1930's Art Deco style. I've used vivid green and bold pink to highlight its gorgeous shape and give the piece a pop-art feel. You can see the intricate curves and shapes of Ceres as the light catches the aluminium outlines that make up the shapes in the statue.

NB: ‘Ceres’ is made to order. It can usually be created and shipped in about weeks.
