Seeing the plumes of steam bursting out of the chimneys was one of my first memories when I first came to visit city in the 1980’s. They just seem ‘so New York’, almost iconic landmarks in themselves.
This piece is created from an original photo and printed on brushed aluminum. This gives it an etched appearance and makes the colours evenmore vivid. I’ve used these bold colours to contrast them with the metallic finish and make the steam centre stage.
‘Letting Off Steam’ is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around two weeks. It comes with an aluminium subframe on the back, which makes it incredibly easy to hang.
