From my Little Apple collection: ‘celebrate the Big Apple with a little piece of art.’

I love the simple yet powerful design of the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to convey a sense of strength, boldness, and power - something which suggested the statue is proud to be there, centre stage. The pop art style using bold colours and aluminium surface help create this feeling.

This piece is created from an original photograph, taken on a helicopter trip with the doors off. The image is digitally coloured and printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium, which brings out the vivid colours and mimics the statue’s gorgeous copper surface. The piece is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.
